About Cikgu Mansor

Mansor Al-Idrus - Camar Putih

Mansor Sheikh Mohammad Al-Idrus -Camar Putih-

Hi. They call me Cikgu (teacher) Mansor. I was actually never a teacher, not a teacher with a certificate – unqualified, to make it short. That was what my brother, Dato Sheikh Adnan tried to tell me in 2001, before I start my tuition school.

Adnan, My Eldest Brother

Adnan, My Eldest Brother

“How can you teach? You are not a teacher…” was the simple blunt comment coming from the mouth of  Mr. Permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Education, a position my eldest brother Adnan hold until January 2008.

I simply answered him, “I have the confidence…”

Confidence that is.

I am a gradute of University of  Life.

A permanent resident myself, and having to go thru the same ‘citizenship’ exam in 1997, and only getting my Brunei’s citizenship at the age of 38 in 1998 makes me a very angry young man. Angry with Brunei’s two sided ‘citizenship’ law. A law so outdated and needs to be changed.

AND I will do it – even if it would bring consequences.

I will help as much as possible my Chinese friends get their rightfully Brunei’s citizenship in my tiny might, for I ony know one thing:

I WILL NEVER STOP…!!!

    Hi Sharon,

To get the yellow ic is not ONLY about passing the Malay exam. And to pass the exam is not ONLY about knowing the questions & to memorize the answers. It goes far beyond that. The essence of your answers & ideas is also highly considered.

Reading books or getting the past papers is not the answer. Understanding of the true meaning of Malay Islamic Monarchy as a way of life & to honour Malay as the national langguage is of utmost importance.

Some candidates were lucky enough to pass the exam without having to study under proper guidance of a qualified teacher. Most, like yourself, are not the lucky ones.

There are few ‘schools’ which you an choose to study from. For the betterment of your future generation, the choice is up to you to make.

Hi Cikgu. Do you know where can I get some facts & figures about Brunei Darussalam? Also I need to find some notable Sultan’s titah. Tried to go into Pelita Brunei website, but looks like they have changed the website format, can’t seem to find the titah anywhere. I used to get some from there while studying for my exam. I am designing a school diary and decided to put in some facts & figures and sultan’s quote. Thanks in advance.
