How Lucky We Are…

12 Aug

To most of us here in Brunei, having three meals a day is normal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be expected on our dining table each day, without fail. Some of us are even luckier, able to add to these three meals with a few more in between, with friends, outside, until late.

Sadly enough, unfinished food like these are normal for us here in Brunei.

What a waste…

My point is, are we being thankful to what we have, here in Brunei?

Indeed, we are a bunch of lucky citizens. We seems to have all the food we want. And in the process, we become too complesent and failed to remember those unfortunate people around us, who hardly had food to eat. With Ramadhan coming, I sincerely hope that every time before we break our fast and starting to eat, we can ask this to our self:

Has my neighbour eaten? Enough said…

Now, let me show you some disturbing photos which I was able to gather through the internet as a reminder of how lucky we are here in Brunei…

With great agony comes great motivation. With great motivation comes great strength. With great strength comes great abilities. And with great abilities comes great power to survive.

To the people in agony, may these few words unleash your full potential.

And to the people of Brunei, may these few pictures “wake you up” to see what kind of success you all can achieve, if only you had the will to do so.
